AI-suggested

Users of nnn version 5.2 should consider upgrading if a fix is released or apply any official updates once available. Until then, limiting the ability of untrusted users to influence the HOME environment variable can reduce exposure.

Description

CVE-2026-65610 is a numeric truncation error vulnerability in the nnn file manager version 5.2. The issue arises because the homelen variable is stored as an unsigned char, limiting its range to 0-255. An attacker able to influence the HOME environment variable can cause the length to truncate to 0, leading to an out-of-bounds read and write just before the path buffer.
