Technical Analysis

CVE-2026-6804 is an authorization bypass vulnerability in the AI Copilot – Content Generator plugin for WordPress by wupsales. The plugin fails to properly verify user authorization before allowing actions such as publishing draft posts or unpublishing live posts. This enables unauthenticated attackers to manipulate post states by supplying arbitrary scenario IDs. The vulnerability affects all versions up to and including 1.4.12. No official patch or remediation guidance is currently available, and no known exploits are reported in the wild.

Potential Impact

An attacker without authentication can publish draft WordPress posts, exposing content not intended for public view, or unpublish live posts, causing disruption to website content availability. There is no reported confidentiality impact, but integrity is impacted due to unauthorized content modification. Availability impact is not indicated.

Mitigation Recommendations

Patch status is not yet confirmed — check the vendor advisory for current remediation guidance. Until a fix is available, restrict access to the plugin and monitor for suspicious activity related to post publishing. Avoid using affected versions in production environments if possible.
