An official patch is available and should be applied to affected Linux kernel versions to fix the resource leak in the tsi148 bridge driver. Users should update their Linux kernel to a patched version as provided by their distribution vendor. No additional mitigation steps are required beyond applying the fix.
Description
A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's staging vme_user driver was resolved, addressing a resource leak of location monitor objects in the tsi148 bridge component. The issue occurs because the tsi148_probe() function allocates location monitor resources linked into tsi148_bridge->lm_resources, but the tsi148_remove() function does not free this list, causing a leak on device unbind or module unload. This flaw has been fixed by ensuring the lm_resources list is freed properly during removal. The vulnerability is considered low severity and affects specific Linux kernel versions. A patch is available to resolve this issue.
