AI-suggested
A patch is available and has been applied in Linux kernel versions 6.8.0-147.147, 6.8.0-1067.70, 7.0.0-1012.12~24.04.1, and other listed fixed versions. Users and administrators should update to these fixed kernel versions to remediate the resource leak. No additional mitigation steps are required beyond applying the official fix.
Description
A resource leak vulnerability was identified in the Linux kernel's staging vme_user driver for the tsi148 bridge. The issue occurs because the location monitor resource allocated during device probe is not freed during device removal, leading to a resource leak on device unbind or module unload. This flaw has been fixed by ensuring the location monitor resources are properly freed in the removal function.
