AI-suggested
A patch is available and has been applied in Linux kernel versions 7.0.0-1014.14~24.04.1 and later. Users and administrators should update affected Linux kernel versions to these fixed releases to remediate the vulnerability. No additional mitigation steps are indicated by the vendor advisory.
Description
A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's drm/amdkfd component allowed unchecked copying of the v9 CRIU control stack checkpoint beyond the allocated buffer object (BO) size. This could cause memcpy to read past the intended memory region into adjacent graphics translation table (GTT) memory, potentially leaking sensitive kernel data to userspace. The issue was fixed by clamping the checkpoint copy size to the allocated BO size. Multiple affected Linux kernel versions prior to 7.0.0-1014.14~24.04.1 and certain 3.11.x to 3.13.x versions have been patched.
