This vulnerability has been fixed in the Linux kernel. Users should update to a kernel version that includes the fix identified by the commits listed in establishedFacts.fixedVersions. No additional mitigation is required once the system is updated.
Description
A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's sata_dwc_460ex driver caused an infinite loop in the NCQ tag completion bit-scanning code. The issue occurs when the tag_mask has only high bits set, leading to an unbounded left shift that results in a spinlock-held infinite loop in hardirq context. This was fixed by replacing the custom bit-scanning loop with the __ffs() function, which correctly finds the least significant set bit and prevents the infinite loop.
