A patch is available and should be applied to affected Linux kernel versions to address this issue. The vendor advisory confirms that the flaw has been fixed. Users should update to the patched kernel versions to ensure protection.
Description
A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's mtd: rawnand: lpc32xx_slc driver caused the DMA transfer to be reported as successful despite a completion timeout. This occurs because the function lpc32xx_xmit_dma() waits for DMA completion but ignores the timeout, leading to unmapped timed-out transfers that can continue accessing buffers incorrectly. The issue has been resolved by returning an error code on timeout and terminating the DMA channel before unmapping the scatterlist.
