Technical Analysis

This vulnerability in LZ-litchi 1.0.0 enables unauthenticated attackers to perform arbitrary file uploads and path traversal via the directory parameter in the specified API endpoint. This can lead to files being written outside the intended storage directory, potentially allowing attackers to place malicious files in unauthorized locations on the server.

Potential Impact

The vulnerability allows unauthenticated remote attackers to upload arbitrary files and write outside the intended directory, which could lead to unauthorized file placement and potential further compromise depending on the server's configuration and file handling.

Mitigation Recommendations

Patch status is not yet confirmed — check the vendor advisory for current remediation guidance. Until a fix is available, restrict access to the vulnerable endpoint and validate or sanitize input parameters to prevent arbitrary file uploads and path traversal.
