AI-suggested

A fix is available and has been applied in specific Linux kernel commits and versions. Systems running the affected Linux kernel version 5.12 should upgrade to a fixed version containing the patch identified by the listed commit hashes. No additional mitigation is required once patched.

Description

A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's riscv architecture probes subsystem caused a kernel crash when reading a word from the stack in a kretprobe. The issue was due to the original stack pointer (sp) not being saved in the rethook trampoline, leading to an invalid memory access and kernel panic. This flaw was fixed by saving the original sp along with other registers in the trampoline code.
