AI-suggested
A patch is available and should be applied to affected Linux kernel versions. The fix replaces the direct dequeue call with a safer method that prevents kernel panics. Users should update to patched kernel versions as provided by their distribution vendors. No additional mitigation is required beyond applying the official fix.
Description
A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's net/sched sch_taprio module caused kernel panics due to improper handling of packet dequeue operations in certain child queueing disciplines. This flaw could lead to kernel crashes from softirq context during ordinary egress traffic processing. The issue has been resolved by replacing a direct dequeue call with a safer peek and dequeue approach that respects the child queue's internal state.
