A patch is available and should be applied to affected Linux kernel versions to resolve this memory leak. The vendor advisory confirms the fix is included in updated kernel releases. Users should update to the fixed kernel versions as provided by their Linux distribution.
Description
A potential memory leak vulnerability in the Linux kernel's bnx2x driver was fixed. The issue occurred in the bnx2x_alloc_mem_bp() function where, if allocation of fp[i].tpa_info failed, the previously allocated bnx2x_fastpath struct was not freed because it was not yet linked to the bp structure. This could lead to resource leakage. The fix involved linking the allocated struct immediately after allocation to ensure proper cleanup on failure.
