A patch is available and should be applied to affected Linux kernel versions to resolve the I/O leak. The vendor advisory confirms the issue has been fixed. Users should update their Linux kernel to the fixed versions listed by their distribution. No additional mitigation actions are indicated.
Description
A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's SCSI subsystem (scsi: elx: efct) caused an I/O leak when handling unsupported additional Command Descriptor Blocks (CDBs). The function efct_dispatch_fcp_cmd() allocated an efct_io structure before dispatching an unsolicited FCP command but failed to free it if the command contained an unsupported additional CDB, leading to a resource leak. This issue has been fixed in affected Linux kernel versions.
