A patch is available that fixes the initialization order in the spi: uniphier driver. Users should apply the official Linux kernel updates that include this fix. The vendor advisory confirms the availability of this fix. No additional mitigation steps are required beyond applying the patch.
Description
A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's spi: uniphier driver was fixed by correcting the initialization order of a completion object before registering an interrupt handler. The driver previously registered the interrupt before initializing the completion, which could lead to undefined behavior if the interrupt fired immediately. This issue has been observed with Kernel Address Sanitizer (KASAN).
