A patch is available and should be applied to affected Linux kernel versions to address this vulnerability. The vendor advisory confirms that this issue has been resolved. Users should update to the fixed kernel versions provided by their distribution or vendor.
Description
A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's FPGA driver (dfl) was fixed by adding a bounds check in the dfh_get_param_size() function. The function could return a parameter size larger than the feature region due to improper loop bounds checking, potentially causing an out-of-bounds memory copy when interacting with a malicious FPGA device. This flaw was addressed by adding a bounds check after size increment to prevent exceeding the feature boundary.
