What to do
AI-suggested
A fix has been implemented in the Linux kernel to address this vulnerability by enforcing stricter validation of NTFS index block headers. Users should apply the official kernel updates containing this fix once available. Patch status is not explicitly confirmed in the provided data; therefore, check the vendor or Linux kernel advisory for current remediation guidance.
Description
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ntfs: validate index block header more strictly Modify ntfs_index_block_inconsisent() to perform stricter validation of INDEX_HEADER geometry in INDX blocks, and update ntfs_lookup_inode_by_name() to use that function to validate INDX blocks.
