A patch is available that fixes this issue by properly cleaning up the untagged batadv_meshif_vlan object in the destructor. Users should apply the official Linux kernel updates that address this vulnerability. No additional mitigation steps are indicated by the vendor advisory.
Description
A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's batman-adv subsystem was resolved involving improper cleanup of an untagged VLAN object during network device registration failure. When a mesh interface registration is vetoed by another notifier, the cleanup process does not invoke the .dellink destructor, causing a resource leak of the untagged batadv_meshif_vlan object. This issue has been addressed in a patch.
