AI-suggested

A patch is available and should be applied to affected Linux kernel versions to prevent the NULL pointer dereference. The fix adds necessary NULL checks in the affected handlers to avoid crashes. Users should update to patched kernel versions as listed in the affectedVersions field. No additional mitigation actions are specified by the vendor advisory.

Description

A NULL pointer dereference vulnerability was identified and fixed in the Linux kernel's ASoC qcom q6apm driver. The issue occurs when a late DSP buffer-done response races with buffer freeing, leading to a crash due to dereferencing a NULL pointer. This flaw was exposed after updates to the apr bus command processing. Multiple specific Linux kernel versions are affected. A patch is available to address this issue by adding NULL checks within mutex-protected sections to prevent dereferencing freed buffers.
