A patch is available and should be applied to affected linux-aws kernel versions. The vendor advisory confirms that this issue is fixed in updated kernel releases. Users should update to the patched kernel versions to remediate this vulnerability.
Description
A memory leak vulnerability in the Linux kernel's tridentfb framebuffer driver was fixed. The issue occurred in the trident_pci_probe() function where allocated memory for modelist was not freed on error paths. This flaw has been addressed by adding a call to fb_destroy_modelist() to properly release memory. The vulnerability affects specific linux-aws kernel versions. A patch is available to resolve this issue.
