AI-suggested
A patch is available and should be applied to affected Linux kernel versions to address this vulnerability. The fix introduces a slaves_lock spinlock and proper RCU annotations to prevent race conditions and use-after-free. Users should update to patched kernel versions as provided by their Linux distribution vendors. No additional mitigation is required beyond applying the official fix.
Description
A use-after-free vulnerability in the Linux kernel's teql network scheduler was resolved by introducing a slaves_lock spinlock to serialize concurrent modifications of the master->slaves linked list. The flaw allowed concurrent writes without proper locking or RCU protection, leading to potential use-after-free conditions. The fix adds appropriate locking and RCU annotations to prevent stale pointer dereferences during list traversal.
