A patch is available that fixes the reference leak in the Linux kernel net/sched act_ct module. Users should apply the official kernel updates for the affected versions to remediate this issue. No additional mitigation steps are required beyond applying the vendor-provided fix.

Description

A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's net/sched subsystem (act_ct) causes a reference leak of nf_connlabels on two error paths in the tcf_ct_fill_params() function. This leak occurs when the function returns early without proper cleanup, leading to an unreleased nf_connlabels reference count. The flaw is exploitable by an unprivileged user with CAP_NET_ADMIN capability over a network namespace, such as via user namespaces. The issue has been fixed in affected Linux kernel versions.
