A patch is available and should be applied to affected Linux kernel versions. The vendor advisory confirms that this issue has been fixed. Users should update to a fixed kernel version to remediate this vulnerability.
Description
A kernel information leak vulnerability was fixed in the Linux kernel's ieee802154 subsystem. The flaw involved uninitialized memory in the pan_id field of the ieee802154_addr structure when the address mode was IEEE802154_ADDR_NONE. This uninitialized data could be copied to user space, potentially leaking kernel memory contents. The issue was resolved by zeroing the address structure to prevent leakage.
