AI-suggested
A patch is available and should be applied to affected Linux kernel versions. The fix enforces proper teardown ordering to prevent use-after-free conditions. Users should update to patched kernel versions as provided by their Linux distribution vendors. No additional mitigations are indicated by the vendor advisory.
Description
A use-after-free vulnerability in the Linux kernel's ALSA usb-audio MIDI 2.0 driver was resolved. The flaw occurs when MIDI 2.0 input URBs are started but a later setup failure triggers freeing of endpoints without first stopping submitted URBs, leading to potential dereferencing of freed memory. This was observed as a KASAN slab-use-after-free error in input_urb_complete().
