Technical Analysis

Kestra, an open-source event-driven orchestration platform, has a vulnerability identified as CVE-2026-73246 (CWE-200, CWE-306) affecting versions before 2.0.0-rc6. The worker endpoint (/worker) in the affected versions serves a complete live Task object without requiring authentication, exposing sensitive information such as commands, environment variables, HTTP headers, connection details, plaintext credentials, and execution identifiers. The main API on port 8080 remains protected. This exposure can lead to unauthorized disclosure of sensitive data. The vulnerability is resolved in version 2.0.0-rc6.

Potential Impact

Unauthorized actors can access sensitive information including commands, environment variables, HTTP headers, connection details, plaintext credentials, and execution identifiers by accessing the unauthenticated /worker endpoint. This exposure can lead to information disclosure but does not directly impact integrity or availability.

Mitigation Recommendations

Upgrade to Kestra version 2.0.0-rc6 or later where this vulnerability is fixed. No other remediation details are provided. Patch status is not explicitly confirmed but the description states the issue is fixed in 2.0.0-rc6.
