AI-suggested

Upgrade CRIU to version 4.2.1 or later, where this vulnerability is fixed. No other mitigation is necessary as the fix addresses the root cause.

Description

CRIU versions prior to 4.2.1 contain a vulnerability where malicious code can hijack control flow during process checkpoint and restore operations. This occurs because CRIU injects a syscall;int3 sequence and resumes the target process to execute parasite code. An attacker can exploit this to redirect execution to attacker-controlled code with elevated privileges in container snapshot environments. The issue is fixed in CRIU version 4.2.1.
