Published: 10/13/2026 (10/13/2026, 13:27:33 UTC)
Source: CVE Database V5
Vendor/Project: Wazuh
Product: wazuh-manager

Description

Wazuh wazuh-manager versions from 4.0.0 up to but not including 4.14.8 have an information disclosure vulnerability. This flaw allows low-privileged users with agent:read permissions to access the plaintext enrollment password (authd.pass) through an unmasked agent configuration endpoint. Attackers with the default readonly role can exploit this to retrieve the secret for pseudo-agent ID 000 and potentially enroll rogue agents against the manager.

Technical Analysis

CVE-2026-74047 is an information disclosure vulnerability in Wazuh wazuh-manager affecting versions >=4.0.0 and <4.14.8. It permits low-privileged users who have agent:read permissions to obtain the plaintext authd.pass enrollment password via an unmasked agent configuration endpoint. Specifically, attackers holding the default readonly role can request the auth component configuration for the pseudo-agent ID 000 to retrieve the secret, enabling them to enroll unauthorized rogue agents against the manager.

Potential Impact

The vulnerability exposes the plaintext enrollment password to unauthorized low-privileged users, which can lead to unauthorized enrollment of rogue agents on the Wazuh manager. This compromises the integrity of the monitoring environment by allowing attackers to introduce unauthorized agents that could send falsified or malicious data.

Mitigation Recommendations

A fix is available in Wazuh versions 4.14.8 and later. Users should upgrade to version 4.14.8 or newer to remediate this vulnerability. Until then, restrict agent:read permissions to trusted users only to reduce exposure.
