A patch is available and should be applied to affected Linux kernel versions. The vendor advisory confirms this issue has been fixed. Users should update to patched kernel versions to mitigate this vulnerability.
Description
A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's mt76 wifi driver (specifically mt7996) could cause a NULL pointer dereference in the mt7996_mac_write_txwi_80211() function. This occurs because mac80211 can pass a NULL vif pointer for injected frames, which was not properly checked before use. The issue has been fixed by adding a check for the vif pointer before calling ieee80211_vif_is_mld().
