A patch is available and should be applied to affected Linux kernel versions. The vendor advisory confirms that this vulnerability has been fixed. Users should update to the patched kernel versions to mitigate this issue.

Description

A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's Distributed Lock Manager (DLM) subsystem was resolved, addressing an issue where message sequence ordering in the send queue could be incorrect. This flaw could lead to reference counting errors and use-after-free conditions during high request benchmarks involving DLM messages, potentially causing system instability or security risks. The issue was reproduced in an experimental DLM branch using io_uring. A patch correcting the message sequence ordering has been released.
