AI-suggested

A fix has been implemented that skips global block reserve accounting during rescue mounts, preventing the NULL pointer dereference. Users should apply the official kernel update containing this fix once available. Until patched, avoid mounting corrupted Btrfs filesystems with rescue=ibadroots to prevent kernel crashes.

Description

A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's Btrfs filesystem allows a NULL pointer dereference during rescue mounts with corrupted block group or RAID stripe tree roots. This occurs because the global block reserve accounting is performed even when the filesystem is mounted read-only in rescue mode, leading to a crash.
