An official fix is available and should be applied by updating to the patched Linux kernel versions. After updating, a system reboot is required to complete remediation. No additional mitigation actions are indicated by the vendor advisory.
Description
A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's net: atlantic driver caused RX pages and DMA mappings of consumed but not refilled buffers to leak on every interface down event. This issue arose because the buffer ring deinitialization only walked the region posted to hardware, missing pages in the complementary gap that were still held for reuse. The flaw was fixed by changing the deinitialization to walk the entire ring and release all remaining pages. The vulnerability affects multiple specific Linux kernel versions and has a medium severity rating.
