A patch is available that fixes this vulnerability by zeroing the input_event structure before use. Users should apply the official Linux kernel updates that include this fix. After updating, a system reboot is required to apply the changes. No additional mitigation actions are indicated by the vendor advisory.

Description

A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's evdev input subsystem caused uninitialized padding bytes in the input_event structure to leak kernel stack memory when passed to userspace. This issue affects certain architectures with padding in the structure, such as SPARC64. The vulnerability was fixed by explicitly zeroing the entire event structure before populating its fields to prevent information leakage.
