A patch is available for the affected Linux kernel versions. The fix disables EOP on all chips on the AGG rings when TPA is enabled, preventing the data corruption issue. Users should apply the official kernel updates and reboot their systems to ensure the vulnerability is mitigated. No additional action is required beyond applying the patch.
Description
A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's bnxt_en driver related to End of frame padding (EOP) on the AGG ring could cause data corruption. Specifically, zero padding at the end of one segment may overlap with the next segment's data if Relaxed Ordering (RO) is enabled, leading to potential data overwrite. Older chips (P5 and earlier) do not disable RO automatically when EOP is enabled, causing reported data corruption on some ARM systems. The issue is fixed by disabling EOP on all chips when TPA is enabled. Multiple specific Linux kernel versions are affected, and a patch is available.
