Technical Analysis

CVE-2026-75109 describes a missing authorization vulnerability in determined-ai's determined product. The API handlers for generic task operations such as kill, pause, and unpause fail to verify whether the requesting authenticated user has permission to perform these actions on tasks owned by other users. This allows attackers with authenticated access but limited privileges to interfere with other users' workloads by terminating or modifying tasks they do not own. The vulnerability affects all versions up to and including 0.38.1. No official remediation or patch information is currently available.

Potential Impact

Authenticated attackers with limited privileges can disrupt other users' workloads by terminating, pausing, or unpausing tasks they do not own. This can lead to denial of service or interruption of critical processing tasks within the affected environment.

Mitigation Recommendations

Patch status is not yet confirmed — check the vendor advisory for current remediation guidance. Until a fix is available, restrict authenticated access to trusted users only and monitor for unauthorized task control attempts.
