Technical Analysis

The yshopmall application version 3.3 and earlier contains a security flaw in its /api/upload endpoint where there is no validation of the uploaded file types. This deficiency enables attackers to upload arbitrary files, including executable web files like HTML and JSP, which can be leveraged to perform Cross Site Scripting (XSS) attacks.

Potential Impact

Attackers can exploit this vulnerability to upload malicious files that may execute scripts in the context of the victim's browser, potentially leading to session hijacking, defacement, or other malicious activities associated with XSS. The lack of file type validation increases the risk of arbitrary code execution via uploaded files.

Mitigation Recommendations

No official patch or remediation guidance is currently available. Patch status is not yet confirmed — check the vendor advisory for current remediation guidance. Until a fix is released, it is recommended to implement strict file type validation on the upload endpoint and restrict executable file uploads as a temporary mitigation.
