Source: CVE Database V5
Vendor/Project: manuelgalan
Product: Vulnity Security

Description

The Vulnity Security plugin for WordPress has an authentication bypass vulnerability in all versions up to and including 1.4.3. This flaw arises from improper protection of a delegated-login credential file on Nginx servers, where the plugin's server configuration snippet protects the wrong directory. Exploiting this, unauthenticated attackers can retrieve stored credentials, forge signed REST API requests, and gain administrator access.

Technical Analysis

CVE-2026-75903 is an authentication bypass vulnerability (CWE-287) in the Vulnity Security WordPress plugin (versions up to 1.4.3). The vulnerability is due to insufficient protection of the delegated-login pairing credential file on Nginx-based installations. The plugin's generated server configuration snippet incorrectly guards the wrong directory path, allowing unauthenticated attackers to access stored credentials. With these credentials, attackers can forge signed REST API requests and log in as administrators.

Potential Impact

An attacker can bypass authentication controls without any privileges or user interaction, gaining administrator-level access to the WordPress site. This compromises confidentiality, integrity, and availability, allowing full control over the affected site.

Mitigation Recommendations

No patch or official fix is currently documented. Users should monitor the vendor advisory for updates. Until a fix is available, consider restricting access to the delegated-login credential file via manual server configuration adjustments or temporarily disabling the plugin on Nginx servers to prevent exploitation.
