Users should restrict contributor-level access and avoid using the 'sort_order' shortcode attribute in draft posts until a fix is available. Monitor the vendor's advisories for updates and apply patches promptly once released.

Description

The WP Inventory Manager WordPress plugin up to version 2.5.5 contains a time-based SQL Injection vulnerability via the 'sort_order' shortcode attribute. Authenticated users with contributor-level access or higher can exploit this flaw by embedding the vulnerable shortcode in a draft post preview, allowing them to append SQL queries and extract sensitive database information without publishing the post.
