Until a fix is available, consider disabling secondary authentication on tunnel groups if feasible or applying any recommended workarounds from Cisco. Avoid exposure of the SSL VPN service to untrusted networks if possible.

Description

CVE-2026-76418 is a high-severity vulnerability in Cisco Secure Firewall Adaptive Security Appliance (ASA) Software and Cisco Secure Firewall Threat Defense (FTD) Software. It affects the Remote Access SSL VPN service when secondary authentication is configured on a tunnel group. An unauthenticated remote attacker can send a crafted request to trigger a device reload, causing a denial of service (DoS). The flaw arises from logic errors leading to an unchecked return value and NULL pointer dereference. Multiple specific versions of the ASA software are affected.
