Technical Analysis

CVE-2026-78470 is an SQL Injection vulnerability in WP Project Manager Pro plugin for WordPress, affecting all versions up to and including 4.0.1. The vulnerability arises from insufficient escaping of user-supplied parameters and lack of proper SQL query preparation. Authenticated attackers with at least Subscriber-level privileges can append malicious SQL queries to existing ones, potentially extracting sensitive data from the database. The CVSS 3.1 base score is 6.5 (AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:N/A:N), reflecting network attack vector, low attack complexity, and partial privileges required.

Potential Impact

An attacker with Subscriber-level or higher access can exploit this vulnerability to extract sensitive information from the database by injecting SQL commands. The vulnerability does not affect integrity or availability but compromises confidentiality of data stored in the database.

Mitigation Recommendations

Patch status is not yet confirmed — check the vendor advisory for current remediation guidance. Until an official fix is released, restrict Subscriber-level access where possible and monitor for suspicious activity related to database queries. Avoid granting unnecessary privileges to users. Follow vendor channels for updates on patches or mitigations.
