Until an official fix is available, restrict backend user permissions to trusted users only and monitor for suspicious role changes. Avoid granting the settings.users.edit permission to untrusted users. Follow vendor updates closely for an official patch or temporary mitigation.
Description
CVE-2026-79411 is a privilege escalation vulnerability in Webkul Bagisto version 2.4.9. An authenticated backend user with only the settings.users.edit permission can escalate to full administrator privileges by exploiting improper role assignment validation in the user-update endpoint. This allows the attacker to gain full admin-panel capabilities, including access to store configuration, payment credentials, and customer personal information.
