CVE-2026-79764: CWE-918: Server-Side Request Forgery (SSRF) in Termix-SSH Termix
Termix is a web-based server management platform with SSH terminal, tunneling, and file editing capabilities. From 2.5.0 until 2.5.1, the /homepage/proxy endpoint accepts an authenticated user's url query parameter and passes it to http.get or https.get without destination restrictions. In src/backend/database/routes/homepage-proxy-routes.ts, new URL performs only syntactic validation, allowing requests to loopback, RFC1918, link-local, and cloud metadata destinations. The endpoint returns the complete fetched JSON response, so a low-privilege or self-registered account can exfiltrate internal service data and cloud credentials. This issue is fixed in version 2.5.1.

Technical Summary
Termix-SSH Termix is affected by a Server-Side Request Forgery (SSRF) vulnerability (CWE-918) in versions >=2.5.0 and <2.5.1. The /homepage/proxy endpoint accepts a URL parameter from authenticated users and passes it directly to http.get or https.get calls without destination restrictions. The URL validation only performs syntactic checks, permitting requests to loopback, RFC1918, link-local, and cloud metadata IP ranges. The endpoint returns the full fetched JSON response, enabling attackers with low privileges to access internal services and cloud credentials. This vulnerability is resolved in version 2.5.1.
Potential Impact
An attacker with low privileges or a self-registered account can exploit this SSRF vulnerability to send requests to internal network services, including cloud metadata endpoints, potentially exfiltrating sensitive internal data and cloud credentials. This can lead to unauthorized access to internal resources and compromise of cloud infrastructure credentials. There is no indication of active exploitation in the wild at this time.
Mitigation Recommendations
Upgrade Termix to version 2.5.1 or later, where this SSRF vulnerability is fixed. No additional mitigation is required once the upgrade is applied.
