An official fix is available and should be applied by updating to patched Linux kernel versions. Users should apply the vendor-provided updates to resolve this issue.
Description
A NULL pointer dereference vulnerability in the Linux kernel's mtd: maps: vmu-flash component was fixed. The issue occurs because the mtd_info structure's device member must be linked to its parent device; failure to do so causes initialization to fail with a NULL pointer dereference. This flaw could lead to denial of service by crashing the system during MTD initialization.
