AI-suggested
A patch is available and should be applied to affected Linux kernel versions to fix the NAPI leak and prevent use-after-free conditions. The vendor advisory from Ubuntu confirms that this issue has been resolved in updated kernel packages. Users should update to the fixed kernel versions as per their distribution's guidance.
Description
A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's veth driver causes a NAPI structure leak during XDP enablement error handling. This leads to use-after-free (UAF) memory corruption when the device is destroyed. The issue arises because the rollback loop skips deleting a NAPI association for a failed index, leaving a dangling napi_struct in the device's napi_list. This flaw has been fixed in updated Linux kernel versions.
