AI-suggested

A patch is available and should be applied to affected Linux kernel versions. The vendor advisory confirms that this issue has been fixed. Users should update to the fixed kernel versions to mitigate this vulnerability.

Description

A vulnerability in the Linux kernel coresight subsystem related to the Embedded Trace Extension (ETE) was resolved. The issue involved the failure to always save the state of system register ETMs and ETE on CPU power down, which could cause errors when using Coresight with ACPI on certain platforms. The fix hardcodes the setting for sysreg ETMs and improves handling of concurrent device probing to prevent state loss.
