AI-suggested
A fix for this vulnerability has been implemented by rejecting permission values exceeding the number of permissions defined for a class (nprim). Users should apply the updated Linux kernel versions that include this fix. Since this is a kernel-level issue, upgrading to patched kernel versions is the recommended remediation.
Description
A vulnerability in the Linux kernel SELinux subsystem allows an out-of-bounds heap write when a permission value exceeds the number of permissions defined for a class. This occurs because perm_read() bounds permission values by SEL_VEC_MAX but not by the actual number of permissions (nprim) in the class, leading to memory corruption. Well-formed SELinux policies are unaffected. The issue has been resolved by rejecting permission values exceeding nprim.
