A fix is available that rejects SELinux classes whose permission count is below their inherited common's permission count. Users should apply the updated Linux kernel versions that include this fix. Since this is a kernel-level issue, updating to a patched kernel version is the recommended remediation.

Description

A vulnerability in the Linux kernel SELinux subsystem allows an out-of-bounds heap write due to improper validation of class permission counts relative to inherited common permissions. Specifically, a class that inherits a common with more permissions than the class declares can cause memory corruption when the policy is loaded. Well-formed policies that correctly include inherited permissions are not affected. This issue has been resolved by rejecting classes whose permission count is below their inherited common's count.
