CVE-2026-81543: CWE-269 Improper Privilege Management in Tyche Softwares Abandoned Cart Pro for WooCommerce
Description
The Abandoned Cart Pro for WooCommerce plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Privilege Escalation in all versions up to, and including, 10.7.1. This is due to missing capability checks and nonce verification on multiple AJAX actions including wcap_save_connector_settings, wcap_send_manual_email, wcap_abandoned_cart_info, and wcap_change_manual_email_data. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with subscriber-level access and above, to modify SMTP connector settings to route administrator recovery emails through an attacker-controlled server and intercept auto-login links to gain full administrative access. The plugin's auto-login feature must be enabled, which is the default configuration.

Technical Analysis
CVE-2026-81543 is a privilege escalation vulnerability in the Abandoned Cart Pro for WooCommerce WordPress plugin affecting all versions up to and including 10.7.1. The vulnerability is due to missing capability checks and nonce verification on multiple AJAX actions such as wcap_save_connector_settings, wcap_send_manual_email, wcap_abandoned_cart_info, and wcap_change_manual_email_data. Authenticated attackers with subscriber-level access or higher can exploit this flaw to modify SMTP connector settings, redirecting administrator recovery emails through attacker-controlled servers. This allows interception of auto-login links and potential full administrative access. The vulnerability requires the plugin's auto-login feature to be enabled, which is the default configuration.
Potential Impact
An attacker with subscriber-level access or higher can escalate privileges to full administrator by manipulating SMTP settings to intercept recovery emails containing auto-login links. This compromises the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the affected WordPress site, potentially allowing complete administrative control.
Mitigation Recommendations
Patch status is not yet confirmed — check the vendor advisory for current remediation guidance. Until an official fix is available, it is recommended to disable the auto-login feature if possible and restrict user roles to trusted users only. Monitor for updates from Tyche Softwares regarding a security patch addressing this vulnerability.
