Published: 08/28/2026 (08/28/2026, 10:49:30 UTC)
Source: CVE Database V5
Vendor/Project: budibase
Product: server

Description

Budibase server versions before 3.41.3 have a missing authorization vulnerability in the POST /api/resources/duplicate endpoint. This flaw allows authenticated builder users to inject tables, automations, queries, and screens into any application by specifying an arbitrary destination workspace ID, even without roles in that workspace. Injected automations can be triggered via outgoing webhooks to exfiltrate data from victim applications.

Technical Analysis

CVE-2026-82242 is a missing authorization vulnerability affecting Budibase server versions prior to 3.41.3. The vulnerability exists in the POST /api/resources/duplicate endpoint, which does not properly verify that the authenticated builder has the necessary roles in the destination workspace. This allows an attacker with builder-level authentication to inject arbitrary resources such as tables, automations, queries, and screens into other applications by specifying any destination workspace ID. The injected automations can then be triggered through outgoing webhooks, enabling potential data exfiltration from victim applications.

Potential Impact

An attacker with authenticated builder access can escalate their privileges by injecting resources into workspaces where they have no roles, potentially compromising application integrity and confidentiality. The ability to trigger injected automations via outgoing webhooks can lead to unauthorized data exfiltration from victim applications. This elevates the risk of data breaches and unauthorized manipulation of application resources.

Mitigation Recommendations

A fix is available in Budibase server version 3.41.3. Users should upgrade to version 3.41.3 or later to remediate this missing authorization vulnerability. No other mitigation steps are indicated by the vendor advisory.
