Source: CVE Database V5
Vendor/Project: mySCADA Technologies
Product: mySCADA myPRO

Description

The myPRO Manager notification gateway exposes an unauthenticated HTTP endpoint used to send SMS messages through a connected GSM modem. Technical Analysis

The myPRO Manager notification gateway in mySCADA myPRO exposes an unauthenticated HTTP endpoint that accepts phone numbers and messages to send SMS via a connected GSM modem. This endpoint is accessible over the network and does not require any authentication, allowing an unauthenticated attacker with network access to send arbitrary SMS messages through the modem. This vulnerability is identified as CWE-862 (Missing Authorization).

Potential Impact

An unauthenticated attacker with network access to the notification gateway can send arbitrary SMS messages through the connected GSM modem. This could lead to unauthorized use of the SMS service, potential abuse of messaging capabilities, and associated costs or reputational damage. The CVSS 3.1 base score is 6.3 (medium), reflecting low confidentiality and integrity impact but some availability impact.

Mitigation Recommendations

Patch status is not yet confirmed — check the vendor advisory for current remediation guidance. Until a fix is available, restrict network access to the notification gateway to trusted users only to prevent unauthorized exploitation.
