Technical Analysis

This vulnerability affects Tenda AC6 routers running firmware version 15.03.06.23. The get_log_file function in the /goform/getLogFile HTTP endpoint improperly sanitizes the wans.flag parameter, allowing remote attackers to perform OS command injection. This can lead to unauthorized command execution on the device. The vulnerability is remotely exploitable without user interaction and has a CVSS 4.0 base score of 5.1, indicating medium severity. No official fix or patch has been published by the vendor as of the current information.

Potential Impact

Successful exploitation allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary operating system commands on the affected Tenda AC6 device. This could compromise the device's integrity and potentially allow further network compromise depending on the attacker's goals. However, the CVSS score and vector indicate limited scope and complexity, and no known active exploitation has been reported.

Mitigation Recommendations

Patch status is not yet confirmed — check the vendor advisory for current remediation guidance. Until an official fix is available, users should consider restricting remote access to the device's management interface to trusted networks only and monitor for unusual activity. Avoid exposing the vulnerable endpoint to untrusted networks.
