Technical Analysis

CVE-2026-82901 is a critical vulnerability in the Ultra Addons for Contact Form 7 WordPress plugin (versions up to 3.5.50) caused by improper validation of uploaded file types in the 'uacf7_wpcf7_mail_components' function. This weakness (CWE-434) permits unauthenticated attackers to upload arbitrary files when the PDF Generator module is enabled, potentially enabling remote code execution on the affected server.

Potential Impact

Successful exploitation allows unauthenticated attackers to upload arbitrary files to the web server, which may lead to remote code execution, full compromise of the affected WordPress site, and potential further attacks against the hosting environment. The impact is high confidentiality, integrity, and availability loss.

Mitigation Recommendations

No official patch or fix is currently confirmed. Since exploitation requires the PDF Generator module to be enabled (which is disabled by default), ensure this module remains disabled if not needed. Monitor the vendor advisory for updates and apply any official patches once available. Until then, restrict plugin usage and consider disabling or removing the plugin if the PDF Generator module is required and cannot be safely enabled.
