Technical Analysis

This vulnerability affects the Oracle Internet Directory component of Oracle Fusion Middleware, specifically versions 12.2.1.4.0 and 14.1.2.1.0. It permits an unauthenticated attacker with network access via LDAP to exploit the flaw easily and compromise the Oracle Internet Directory, resulting in full system takeover. The CVSS 3.1 vector (AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H) reflects that the attack requires no privileges or user interaction and impacts confidentiality, integrity, and availability at a high level. Oracle has published a Critical Security Patch Update in September 2026 that includes fixes for this vulnerability among many others.

Potential Impact

Successful exploitation allows an unauthenticated attacker with network access via LDAP to take over Oracle Internet Directory, compromising confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the system. This can lead to full control over the affected Oracle Internet Directory instance.

Mitigation Recommendations

Oracle has released a Critical Security Patch Update in September 2026 that addresses this vulnerability. Customers are strongly advised to apply the provided patches promptly to mitigate the risk. Oracle recommends remaining on actively supported versions and applying security patches without delay. Patch status is confirmed as available via the official Oracle advisory.
